Dr. Peyman Banooni | BH OBGYN

Dr. Peyman Banooni

Dr. Banooni has developed a very rich relationship with Cedars Sinai Medical Center, serving on their “Medical Executive Committee” and being a contributing member of their “Centers of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery.” Dr. Banooni is also very dedicated to successful hospital delivery outcomes and is a member of the “Performance Improvement Committee,” a departmental committee focused on improving patient outcomes with regard to delivery and care.

Dr. Peyman Banooni has dedicated his career to caring for women of all ages. Dr. Banooni earned his medical degree from the University of California- San Diego in 1999 and he completed his OB/GYN residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in June 2003. Dr. Banooni has lived in Los Angeles for the majority of his life. He maintains that his life’s best accomplishment is one that he shares with his lovely wife and being the parents to three amazing young children.

Dr. Daniel Niku | BH OBGYN

Dr. Daniel Niku

Daniel Niku, MD, MS, is a dedicated obstetrician and gynecologist who works as a health care partner and patient advocate, providing integrative care that supports every aspect of women’s health through all phases of their lives. Dr. Niku has purposefully created a comfortable environment that embraces conversation and education, with the goal of empowering his patients with information so they can participate in their health care.

Dr. Niku received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California, graduating with a major in psychology and a minor in business. He stayed in Los Angeles and entered the Keck School of Medicine, where he graduated a year later with a Master of Science in Global Medicine. While studying abroad and earning his medical degree from St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine in True Blue, Grenada, Dr. Niku taught his peers the fundamentals of medicine. He also became active in a program that brought community members together with burgeoning physicians. During his time at SGU, he found his passion for obstetrics and gynecology, a field that combines his interest in hands-on patient care with long-term patient growth and well-being. He graduated cum laude from SGU in 2015.

Dr. Niku finished his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Staten Island University Hospital, part of Northwell Health in Staten Island, New York. He was twice recognized and awarded as the top student educator, as well as chief resident in his final year of training. His patients, colleagues, and mentors recognized his medical knowledge and skills, and also valued his constant presence as an educator and patient advocate.

Dr. Niku is at his best when teaching patients and engaging students in better understanding health promotion and disease prevention. One way he stays engaged is through his interactive blog that focuses on women’s health, including obstetrical and gynecological care.

When he’s not busy helping patients, Dr. Niku loves to cook, play (and watch) basketball, do the New York Times crossword puzzle, and travel.

Dr. Melissa Gutierrez | BH OBGYN

Dr. Melissa Gutierrez

Minimally Invasive Surgery & Obstetrics and Gynecology located in Beverly Hills, CA Melissa Marie Gutierrez, MD, FACOG, of Beverly Hills OB/GYN, is a board certified, fellowship trained physician, researcher, and educator with over ten years of clinical experience. She specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, general gynecology, and obstetrics in Beverly Hills, California. She is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Hospital and La Peer Surgery Center.

Dr. Gutierrez is fluent in English and Spanish. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Spanish from Oklahoma State University, Dr. Gutierrez earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Phoenix, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Maricopa Medical Center, and went on to complete a Fellowship at Las Vegas Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.

Before moving to California and joining the medical team at Beverly Hills OBGYN, Dr. Gutierrez spent over six years in practice in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she served on a variety of advisory committees, and as the Director of Robotics at Las Vegas Minimally Invasive Surgery, the Assistant Medical Director of the Las Vegas Pelvic Health Center, and the Assistant Fellowship Director of Las Vegas Minimally Invasive Surgery. Dr. Gutierrez was honored with the Top OB/GYN Las Vegas award by the International Association of Obstetrics and Gynecologists in 2014.

As an educator of medical students, residents, and fellows, Dr. Gutierrez has conducted surgical workshops and held proctorships at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, the University of California in Los Angeles, and many other institutions and training facilities. As an internationally recognized lecturer, she has been an annual presenter at the Annual Global Congress of Minimally Invasive Gynecology since 2010 and has also presented at the Clark County Medical Society Robotics Symposium, the American College of Surgeons Chile Chapter, and the International Urogynecological Association Annual Meeting.

Dr. Gutierrez has published research in prestigious medical journals, including Surgical Technology International. Dr. Gutierrez has also contributed to many scientific videos, and she has written articles and given interviews concerning gynecologic health and robotic surgery for Las Vegas Women’s Magazine, Morning Blend Las Vegas live television, and other publications and radio productions.

Dr. Gutierrez is passionate about promoting women’s healthcare and serving the women of Los Angeles.

Barry J. Brock, M.D.

Barry J. Brock, M.D.

Barry J. Brock, M.D. has over 30 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology treating women of all ages. He has been an attending doctor at Cedars Sinai Medical Center since completing his residency at the same hospital. He takes pride in giving quality care to all his patients. His obstetrical skills have resulted in maintaining one of the lowest cesarean section rate at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He is also known for doing vaginal breech deliveries, VBAC (vaginal delivery after cesarean section) and vaginal twin deliveries. Barry J. Brock, M.D. has been a member of the Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery Center thus offering his patients major surgeries if necessary, via laparoscopic techniques (belly button surgery). He has also been part of the Center of Excellence, Center for Women’s Incontinence and Pelvic Health. Dr. Brock offers vaginal outpatient surgeries for urinary incontinence, including the tension free sling.

Dr. Brock received his undergraduate and medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He did an internship at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, followed by a one-year surgical residency. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

For the last 16 years, Dr. Brock has volunteered for Helps Internationally, traveling to Guatemala to operate on the local population.
